CONTEST ANNOUNCENT

The annual Blue and Gold dinner will be on Thursday, February 24^th @ 6:30 PM. The dinner will

be at the Jewish Center in Beverly Hills.

This is an annual celebration of the birthday of scouting. What better way to celebrate than by

baking a cake?!?

This year for the Blue & Gold dinner, we are having a cake baking and decorating contest.

Traditionally this event is for Cub Scouts and their Dads to take a stab at making a cake. For our

pack Cake Bake we will encourage the boys to work with a male role model, but if one is not

readily available we will happily allow the scout to work with Mom or another adult female.

If you have more than one Cub Scout in your family you can choose to do one cake or one for

each scout.

 

RULES

1. The primary/ largest portion of the cake must be cake/brownie/cookie or other baked good. You may use a cake mix, or make one from scratch. The primary piece(s) of the cake must be made not purchased.
2. All decorations or special effects on the cake must be EDIBLE. Please watch for choking hazards. Do not embed hard items like candy inside the cake. Small Edible items are OK as long as they are visible. (NO toothpicks and/or straws; they are not edible unless you are a termite.)
3. The Scout and his helper must do all the shopping, preparation, baking and decorating.
4. The Scout and his helper must completely clean the kitchen when they are done – Please DO NOT LEAVE A MESS FOR MOM TO CLEAN UP!

 

Our Blue and Gold dinner is next Thursday, Feb 24th from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.  The dinner is at the Jewish Center in Beverly Hills (directions below).

We will provide fried chicken and PB&J sandwiches. We are asking that each family bring a side dish to share.

We will have a Feller’s Cake Bake Contest at the Blue an Gold dinner next Thursday.  I have attached the information and rules for the contest.

Lots of things going on as of late:

1) bring in your bike a thon donations so we can get that wrapped up

2) your 2011 registration is due this week. $12.50 per scout and $12.50 per committee member

3) pinewood derby is this saturday at Mike Scott Plumbing’s wear house on rte 41 in Holder

4) sunday february 6 is scout sunday. come to Hope Lutheran in your class A to show your appreciation to the church

5) Blue and Gold Banquet is coming up fast, please sign up for our pot luck and cake contest. Kelley email the rules for the contest, ask her if you did not get them

BIKE-ATHON

Don’t forget to start collecting donations for our bike-athon on January 15, 2011.  This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and we will need the proceeds to fund the next 2 awards ceremonies and any other events for the rest of the year.  Please participate in this worthwhile and FUN fundraiser.  Each of you should have received a pledge sheet attached to the December newsletter. I have more sheets if you need them.

The Pinewood Derby is coming soon. We will be having 2 workshops at the church. Saturday Jan 8th and Saturday Jan 22. Both of these will be from 9 am to 12 pm, We will have some tools there for you to use, but we could always use more! is you have ANYTHING please bring it. We have lots of kids there and it is hard to have everybody using one saw.
